I just made my finest cup of coffee yet and I’m very proud. So proud that I have to share. I’m sure blazey can attest to my many failed, frustrating attempts at home.

Beans: Kenia Kirinyaga Gachami from jbkaffee.de

I purchased a bag around the corner at one of my favorite coffee houses called Chapter One. Yesterday, the barista made me an Aeropress coffee using these beans. It might be the best cup I’ve purchased and I’ll definitely buy one later for the road (I think msg evangelized about it years ago)

Method: French Press

I usually put too many beans but this time it was perfect at 5 scoops.

  1. Aggressive pour almost boiling water and let sit for 1 minute.
  2. Broke up the cushion and let it sit, covered, for 3 more minutes.
  3. Press and pour
  4. No milk or sugar

The photo above is not said cup of coffee. It is a coffee flight from a place in Prague called Můj šálek kávy. Go there for breakfast next time you’re in town.
