Springfield's own, Schulers Bakery. The Home of the Home Made.
Blazey and I traveled down to Cincinnati to spend some time with our good friend Aileen's parents this past weekend (Q is in Australia). Mom had a little birthday celebration for her brother Neal who died almost a year ago. A bunch of Neal and Aileen's friends came out to eat up mom's Filipino dishes and send off messages in balloons. OH, so for the past 4 or 5 years (since the day i met Mrs Aquino) she's tried to get me to eat pork. Well she finally succeeded with a little trickery. She told blazey and I that she made everything pork free for me this weekend. I start eating this amazing broccoli salad with turkey bacon and comment on how good it is and mention something about the bacon being turkey. She then says, "yeah, you don't eat pork that's why i told you it was turkey bacon". But she told it so dry that i didn't know if she was joking or not. I take a look at the fatty bacon on my plate and can't help but start cracking up.

We're shooting somethings for Nationwide today which required us to build this wall and find all sorts of props for (which I would love to work with my girl Megan Terry on). Last night I stayed late and finished painting and cleaning up the studio. I set up my little G9 to shoot every 2 seconds. It worked great until my battery died a couple hours later without me realizing it.
The song is from Beck's new album that i can't seem to get enough of. It's titled (the song) Modern Guilt. There is one line that I seem to catch every time I listen – "I lost my baby 10 minutes ago". I dig it.

About my pick:
I met George via 5OH7 at a birthday party last year where i learned he puts on a one man play called Any1Man (which is quite excellent btw). Quoted from his site:
“From the mouth of one man... ...Comes the soul of every man... ...Seen through the eyes of any man.”
We've yet to hook up again but we keep in contact via twitter and from what i've learned about George so far can be summed up like this:
Something Live, Something Funky, Something Black.
What better way to represent him then James Brown Live at the Apollo?

Ologie said goodbye to Antonio also known as the only black guy i've ever worked with at a design agency. I'm pretty sure it is because the contracts say you are only allowed one at a time.
He and his girl are off to new adventures in Chicago.
The new boss man politely asking for another round
Ms. Lindsay Cox talking with our lunch lady Deb (she makes amazing fresh lunch for us everyday at the columbus office)
My homie Tony (whiteletter.com) from OSU threw a party the other day and asked me to come help out with the photobooth. Man, this group of folks were completely in love with it. I don't know how many times i heard "this is the greatest thing ever!" follow by a drunk "whooo". Also I just found out my hilarious friend Laura, whom I met just before me and blazey's first house party together back in Columbus, just moved to town. She was told about the party through a mutual friend and popped up. I can't say how happy i was to see her especially since most (all) of my usual nyc playmates stayed at home exhausted from a day at the beach.
Here are a couple photos. I didn't really know anyone there so i'm declining to show much of the 1300 photos that were rapidly taken over the course of 3 hours. I'm sure twoitaliansandanindian.com will have a large gallery of them all soon.

About my pick:
Move Ya Body - Mad Skills off the From Where??? album
This dropped in '96 i believe. I must have caught the video on Rap City once and it just stuck in my head. It has that slow hot summertime groove to it.
If it's wack, it has to be taken down. Today we broke down the huge pods and replaced them with the incredibly sleek Muji desk. I couldn't be happier, even more when I get a chance to work in the office again. I'll be in Columbus from tomorrow til friday night working on a project for Nationwide.
Aaron dumped the pack of screws in the box which immediately sank to the bottom.
Now my Japanese is a little rusty but i'm sure that they got the instructions wrong. The diagram said to put the washers between the legs and the table tops. Completely wrong.
While blazey and i were setting up the roof Lara (upstairs neighbor) came out and told us remember to stay away from the part of the roof that was above their bedroom since it has been slowly caving in over the past few months. (umm, whoa i didn't know about that) For a little kicker there were way more folks coming than both me and blazey expected. I was still adimate about keeping it up there but poppa blazey made an executive desision to take it down to the stoop - i would have been terribly wrong. The stoop bbq was perfect.
Thank you to all the folks who came out, both the regulars and the new kids. Come back for an end of the summer bbq in a few months!
At the end of the post there is a link to all the other photos.
Here is a collage from Mari's Flickr
Happy birthday Kelly Gold!
Neighbors Valdimir , Sara and new daughter (check flickr and you'll see other photos of them)
Buck is our groundskeeper, lol.

The other week blazey tried to put me on the spot for not heading down to see the family in Springfield. So just incase he tries to front on me again I want to show some photos from the other day - Dinner with mom and my step-pops, Snipper aka Loren F. Browder Jr. I racked my brain trying to find a place for dinner. Mom doesn't eat red meat, pork or sea food and snip doesn't eat Chicken or seafood – yes, chicken! Once i met up with them at the Book Loft they told me the local Max & Ermas was just fine.
Snip: (I'm not sure how he got the name) Loren is going to look just like him in 35 years.
The place mom insist i bring "teeny book girl". The one on the right is Max and Erma's original location in German Village
Big Snip's tat from way back.
They were getting ideas for their back yard from the B&B I stay at (German Village Guesthouse)
Mom's hair is fly
I urge everyone to take a saturday this summer and come chill with me on the stoop. If you want one on one chit chat go holler at Mari's balcony seesions (which I heard are great btw) If you want to do nothing but sit, drink and watch the folks in the 'hood and little Isangle bully everybody on the block come over the 344 Greene. Jennifer & Marcia preping something for us to drink.
Isabelle watering her plot in the garden across the street. (yes she is pregnant!)
Isangel doing something she isn't supposed to (which is the norm)
Nikia walks around all day with headphones on. No matter if we are playing music or not.
If you have nothing to do just yet then you might as well take the train over to Classon and hit up Tyler and Blazey's BBQ on our roof.
Columbus makes it so much easier to head to Target and get this 6 month old instant camera developed. Mari, Tyler, Megan and I headed up to Hunter mountain in Jan or Feb for my only snowboard trip of the season.

My boy tony from my college years is throwing a party next month. Come out and play. (i'm thinking there will be another installment of the bk photobooth...)
I went down to the Knitting Factory to hear some hip hop last night. In particular this cat named Spec Boogie. He came out blazey's party the other night and i knew his name was familiar but not until his joint "From the Heart of Bed-Stuy" came on did i realize that he did one of my favorite songs from a couple months back. I would put up the song but now I can't find it on my computer. Bed Stuy - Spec Boogie. I just wish he spoke more on specifics in the hood.

Donwill of Tanya Morgan. They were supposed to perform but delay's in Denver held them back.
VonPea showing us his buddy passes which apparently wasn't the best way to fly out of denver and still make it on time to a show.
Spec Boogie
George from round the way.
The bartender got this shirt in '88
My new favorite lyrisicst (that is different from all around rapper/entertainer) is Wale. I put on his mix tapes when i fly and have nothign to read. You want to pay attention to everything he is saying. Incredible. I'm hoping to check out the show in a couple weeks.
Here are a few photos from the other night. There are quite a bit more and i'll get out a link sometime this week.
These desk (or pods as Herman Miller calls them) arrived and were assembled monday afternoon. I don't know if it is just NYC but the craftsmanship on everything thus far has been terrible. They had no clue the the hard backing and padding goes between the orange walls so we could use it to pin thing on. The little closet things are falling off and the left parts to the desk in the box cause they couldn't figure it out. sigh
And i feel like these pods are just a bit too big for our space. Well, not too big just along with our table and seating area it is a bit crowded. We are going to attempt to change it soon.
I rode my other two wheeler in Monday.
Dear Herman Miller,
You make desk. Make the desktops out of a surface mice can work on with out a mouse pad. Those things are so 2001.
